Hi! Welcome to Covenant Homemaking. I'm Mary Jo, wife to Ben (since May 2008) and mama to Katie (born February of 2009) and Benjamin Jr (born December of 2010). We make our home in the rural Central Virginia countryside just down the street from my in-laws' 112 acre farm, where you'll most likely find me if I'm not at home.
We are blessed to be followers of Christ. It is our goal to please Him in all we do. There was a time when I wouldn't have thought of staying home full-time to serve my family as fulfilling this goal, but it does. So, I seek to honor Christ by being a godly helper to my wonderful husband and, with him, training up our children to be effective in advancing Christ's kingdom in a lost and dying world.
My desire for Covenant Homemaking is that it would be a place of encouragement. I want to help other women see the beauty and dignity in fulfilling the roles God has called us to, primarily in our homes. Further, in the midst of a culture that often frowns upon women who choose to be keepers-at-home, I would love to help Christian women see what a huge impact we can, by God's grace, have on the society we're in, as well as generations to come--beginning right in our own homes.
